Easy steps to consign:
Know what we look for :
-We look for clean, quality, contemporary women’s clothing, shoes and accessories in up-to-date styles (within the last 3-5 years) in excellent condition. Items with holes, stains, strong odors, or excessive wear will NOT be accepted. Keep in mind we are brand-selective here: Eileen Fisher, Bryn Walker, Johnny Was, David Cline, Wearables, Flax, Coach, JM McLaughlin, Boutique & Designer Labels.
“Mall Brands” such as American Eagle, White House Black Market, Ann Taylor, Chicos, Talbots, JJill, Chicos, JCrew, Abercrombie,Madewell- are very common, and therefore we are more selective with these labels, thank you for understanding! We do not accept items from Walmart,Target, Kohls, Jc Pennys and other discount stores.
-Items are accepted seasonally- With winter and fall being our shortest season. Jackets, leathers & furs, sweaters, thick knits and boots do best between October-January. With Summer and Spring being our longest season- lots of cotton, gauze, linen, silk and those breatheable natural fabrics!
-In addition to clothing we consign shoes, handbags, wallets, hats, belts, scarves, and jewelry (preference to sterling silver + gold filled/plated pieces).
-We price items roughly a 1/3 or less of the retail price, depending on condition and desirability of the style.
2. Walk in Hours- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 10-2 ONLY- Please come with no more than 25 pieces at a time, including clothing and accesories. If this is your first time consigning with us, a minimum of 5 items will need to accepted for an account to be started. Please do not bring items on off days.
3. Get your items ready. Clothing must be clean and brought in folded nicely in shopping bags (no large boxes or suitcases please! Items on hangers OK but not preferred).
4. Bring in your items. You are encouraged to shop around the store while we look through your items. Please do not bring more than 25 pieces. We are small business, and often see 70+ consignors a day. We cannot accomodate huge closet clean outs, storage tubs, suitcases etc We make our selection based on what we feel will sell best and our current invenotry levels. Once we’ve gone through your items, you will sign a consignment agreement with us, provide your information to gain access to our consignment portal where you can track sales of your items. Items are typically priced within 48 hours and an “inventory list” will be emailed to you, including decscriptions and prices of your items. The portal is always available to you to check your item(s) status and view your earnings.
Green Monkey sets the prices for all consigned items based on brand, retail value, customer demand, and condition. We do not negotiate prices and we recommend selling items on own if a certain price point is required.
The consignment period is 90 days.
After 60 days items will be reduced. At any time Green Monkey may reduce the price due to inventory levels, sales, or damage.
5. Get paid!
-Consignors recieve 40% of the selling price of items priced under $250. Items priced higher than $250 consignors recieve 60%.
-Checks are automatically cut at the end of the month as long as sales over $22 have acrued. Unless you request a store credit account, your check will be cut at the end of the month, and available for pick up the following month on the 15th. Checks are not mailed unless stamped enevelopes are provided.
-Balances of less that $22 are credit only balances, and not payable.
6. Take care of leftovers. If any of your items do not sell, they will be donated after the 90 day consignment period. You can reclaim your items by coming in on or before your pick up date. Consignors are responsible for finding their own items. If you prefer the staff to gather your items and have them ready for pick up and your convenience, that service can be provided for a $10 fee. Please call in advance to request this pick up service.

OUR CONTRACT
We will set prices based upon our knowledge and experience of labels and designers, we do not guarantee any prices. If you have a high end item which you feel you would like to work with our buyer on pricing, please let us know when you bring the item in. The Green Monkey boutique will add $2.50 to the consigned price, paid by the buyer, to help cover marketing, advertising and processing costs. Revisions will be made at the discretion of the store. Markdowns may be made after 60 days in the store or in the case of a defective item which was overlooked. Your items will be on the floor for 90 days.
At the end of the 90 days consignment period, you have 3 options:
1. You do not wish to retrieve your items and they can be donated to our current non-profit.
2. You can come into the store and find/collect the items yourself.
3. The staff can collect your items and have them ready for you to pick up for a $10 pick up fee.
Items become property of The Green Monkey if arrangements have not been made to pick up beyond the 90 days. Please give notice for pick up, at times we may ask for up to 2 weeks to collect your items based on business needs. Due to the incredibly large database of consignors we do not contact you regarding your items, or payouts . It is the consignors responsibility to note when the 90 days is up.The Green Monkey does not assume responsibility for items lost due to theft, fire or any other incident that may occur.

Checks are issued on a monthly basis as long as your account has $22. Any balance under $22 is store credit only, which does not expire and can be spent at any time. All checks will be available for IN STORE pick up the 15th of each month- Anything sold through the 30th of the prior month would be included. We do not mail checks unless the consignor provides us with a self addressed and stamped envelope. Checks not cashed after 6 months will be forfeited.
