What is the percentage split?
The percentage split is 40%/60% consignor to store. Unless something is priced over $250. The split reverses to 60%/40% consignor to store
Do you buy clothes outright
No, we do not buy clothes outright. We only consign items. Clients receive a monthly check as their items are sold in the store.
How do I get paid?
We issue checks on a monthly basis. Checks are processed on the last day of the month, BUT are available for pickup on the 15th of the following month- for instance if you are picking up a check for items that sold in January, the check will be available for pick up Februaury 15th.
We issue several hundred checks a month so this 2 week period gives us time to process them.
If your account has reached $22.00 you will have a check. You must come to the store to pick it up. If your account has not reached $22.00 your money stays in you account and you are able to use that money as store credit. You are also always welcome to keep your account as “store credit only” and let your money accrue.
Is there a Limit to how much I can Bring?
Yes. Please limit yourself to 25-30 of your best pieces.
We do not look at items that come in moving boxes, trash bags, storage tubs or suitcases. We prefer items that come folded nicely in a shopping bag, or on hangers.
I have a Special Item, and its Priced at “$$$” online, can you sell it for that much?
The resale market has become very saturated over the last few years. We do our best to sell your items for the most money possible, however online platforms such as Ebay, Poshmark, and Mercari have a much larger audiance then we do. Also just becuase an item is listed online for a certain amount doesn’t always mean it will sell for that price.
We are always happy to chat prices with our clients and take market trends into account, if you are concerned about pricing on a specific item please ask our buyer when you bring your items in.
How do you price the items?
We price them based on resale market, value, trends, condition and our knowledge of the resale industry. We reserve the right to adjust prices as needed. If you have any specific pricing concerns, please feel free to discuss with our buyer.
Do I need an appointment to consign my clothes?
No appointment is necessary. Consignment is done in a “First come, First Served” set up. We consign 3 days a week. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10-2. Typically we are able to go through your items within 25 minutes at the most.
How do I know if you will accept my items?
That’s part of the fun! What we take in varies and can change quite often. What does this mean? Essentially in a high volume store like ours, we are seeing THOUSANDS of pieces each week in a limited space. If someone brings us a dozen size medium JJill tops on a Tuesday, we are not in a position to accept another dozen similar ones on Thursday. Perhaps we pass on a nice black leather bag you brought in, it might have nothing to do with the bag- sometimes we are just already well stocked in that particular item. Inventory levels play a huge part into how many things we can take at any given time.
You are always welcome to call and ask what we are currently looking for, but the magic happens when we can see things in person. our decisions to accept or not accept items is never personal!
I work/cant make it those days, can I drop off my stuff another time?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate drop offs on non-consignment days. Thankfully we take consignment year round, and hope you will be able to make one of those days work in the near future.
What types of items to you take?
We take womens clothing and accessories, including belts. scarves, jewelry, hats, and shoes. Some of our best selling brands include : Johnny Was, Eileen Fisher, Brynn Walker, Sundance, Anthropologie, CP Shades. Most of our inventory is contemporary, but an occasional vintage piece or two is welcomed.
We are seasonal, so jackets, coats, boots and furs are accepted October-January.
We tend to lean away from career wear, such as suits and slacks.
We are also very selective about formal wear - specialty gowns require a certain level of care and keeping and unfortunately in a this type of high volume store we are unable to provide that.
How do I know if my items are selling?
We provide you with access to a third party website that will show you which items have sold and your current balance. We are also able to email you an inventory list, or a list of sold items at your request.
